Birthday By: Brandie

One day it was a little girl's birthday. Her name was Lisa. She thought everyone forgot her birthday. It was today. But no one forgot. Her friend and parent threw a party for her at church. So she opened the door turned on the lights...and everyone jumped out of there hiding spots and yelled SURPRISE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! She felt so special that day when she opened her gifts and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. Her favorite gift was a new doll house.

Summer Day By: Jeraldine

It was a beautiful day. I said to my Mom if we could go swimming. My Mom said yes, we could go swimming today. Then I was so excited about it. I jumped up and down! Then my Mom said to pack up your stuff because we are going to California today. I packed my things. It was a long time to get there. Finally, we got there. We went straight to swim. Then I put on my swimming suit. Then I jumped in the water. I did a flip under the water. I swimmed backwards. It was fun! Then it was time to go home.

Advice for Future 3rd and 4th Graders By: Daniela

Dear 3rd Graders,

I hope you will like third grade, next year. You'll get to do fun activities. You'll hatch baby chicks and lean about them. You will go on a fieldtrip downtown and learn about Lincoln's history and visit some buildings. You will learn about Dinosaurs and go to Morrill Hall.

Fourth grade is fun too! You learn about the United States, prairie, and Pioneers! You will also get to experience how pioneer children's school was like when you go to Heritage School. You will also have to take a State Writing test. And guess what? You have to finish by the next day! You';; have to try to get done, but don't rush! You don't want to get a bad grade.

I hope you will enjoy the many things in 3rd and 4th grade!

Sincerely,

Daniela

Mighty Sun By: Marisol

When I go outside, I see the sunlight
I hear the sirens
I feel something, I can't explain
It's like the day Grandma died
That's what I feel when I go outside.

Time (Poetry) By: Daniela

Time

Oh, Oh there it goes
Tick tock goes the clock
Not enough to do my stuff
The day is over
Tomorrow starts again.
